| Virtual workshop By Peter M Hornung & Henrik Palle Politiken. januar 2000 www.afsnitp.dk/galleri/godeintentioner/home.html The arts are now mobilizing on the internet. It can be seen in several of the "old" galleries, who has a real mail address outside of cyberspace, now the electronic space has been invaded by a string of virtual galleries, who in principal only exists when the PC is online. One example is Afsnit P, it was earlier a bookshop specializing in poetry, in Nansensgade, now it's having a life online with a mix of art and poetry. At the moment there are two great things to experience at the address www.afsnitp.dk. One is the exhibition "Gode Intentioner" by Jasper Sebastian Stürup and Kristofer Hultenberg. Together they have produced a string of computer-images with the help of the program Photoshop. The collaboration is described by the two as being 'spontaneous and unstructured'. And it is obvious that the images ere somewhere in-between the german surrealist Max Ernst, fractal-images and electro microscopic enlargements of molecular structures - except from one looking like a sofa-group turned upside down. In the digital catalogue text, the two artists are saying: "The drawings were simply made by changing seat at the computer, improving or destroying each others drawings, until we together decided that the drawing was done. we have doth detoured a lot from how we usual work, we have arrived at a point where the work couldn't have been done without the other there is no tremble to detect in stürup, who has (proved) his position as a great artist making drawings in his generation. The good intentions have been our setoff, and here are our drawings". It's not the great noise or the honourable ambitions, that marks the work, but the result is quiet exciting to watch. |
